What: Kalavinka Made in Japan Fixed Gear Bike Color: Candy cane red and white Condition: USED Faq: What does Kalavinka mean?迦陵頻迦(Kalavinka)Kalavinka is a Buddhist term meaning “beautiful voice.” The meaning comes from a mythical bird, which is said to have the face of a beautiful woman with a dulcet voice. In Edo period it has been used to describe gorgeous Geisha especially those with a marvelous performing voice. Who is Kalavinka? http://www.kalavinka-bikes.com/A small Keirin bicycle shop located in Tokyo. The shop is run by a father-son duo, both former Keirin racers. I fell in love with their attention to detail and the overall small-business atmosphere. They weld all their frames by hand and do the paint jobs themselves. They are NJS certified as their main clientele are Japanese Keirin racers. As of 2008/2009 there is a 1-2year long wait list to get a frame made by them. I myself had to wait a year before they constructed my frame. Check out their website for more pictures of their product and shop. Condition and SpecsThese measurements and specs all come from me. I am an absolute beginner for pista bikes, not a pro Keirin racer, so please forgive me if I cannot go into greater detail. Remarkably, I only fell down once. It was a light fall. The front tire had 1 flat which I had fixed professionally. There are several knicks, dents, and dirt on the surface, please refer to the pictures. You can pick if you want to ride fixed or free. At the moment it is set to fixed-gear. As you can see I invested over $2500 into this bicycle. My first priority was a smooth and safe ride with minimal weight, with close attention to style. The effects on health are incredible. If you are dependent on a car, bus, or train to commute to school/work, I highly suggest you invest in a bike if the distance is right. You cannot put a price on your health. Perhaps more valuable is the conversational fodder you have when hot Japanese women ask you about your bike. I actually got my J-girlfriend when she complemented me on my ride randomly on the street. Shipping: Shipping is free worldwide. I will be paying for shipping out of pocket because I am out of the Japan at the moment and will need someone to break down the bike, and find a a suitable shipper/container. Please allow for 2 weeks for me to arrange this. It may be possible that the package is shipped in two containers if I cannot fit the entire bike into one box. Refund policy: Under no circumstances will I accept returns or issue refunds due to the nature of this item. I have to the best of my ability described the item's condition verbally and visually through photographs. As a used bike, you can expect dirt, rust, paint chipping, knicks and scratches. If you are not comfortable with this and my no-claim, no-return policy, DO NOT PURCHASE. These pictures were taken when I created the auction and I have tried to cover every angle of the bike. I am not a professional/expert for Keirin bikes but will do my best to answer all your questions honestly and quickly. Since I am out of the country, providing additional pictures may not be possible. I prefer Paypal with confirmed address. EMS Shipping From Japan is as follows: Free Worldwide Questions? Feel free to ask.
