Description
I bought this from the online Apple Store a month ago and have decided that I'd rather have a MacBook Air. It's a maxed-out MacBook Pro with the 2.8 GHz upgrade, 4 GB of ram and the fastest 320 GB/7200 drive. Condition is absolutely as new; I will reformat the drive and restore all of the original software prior to shipping. All original shipping materials are included. I'll pay UPS Ground shipping; you pay for shipping insurance if you want it. Original list price from Apple is $2849 for this CTO configuration. I paid $3100 with NYS sales tax. My change of heart is a great buying opportunity for someone! NOTE: APPARENTLY YOU CAN GET AN ADDITIONAL $200 REBATE ON THIS IF YOU BUY IT USING LIVE.COM. SEVERAL OTHER MACBOOK LISTINGS DETAIL HOW THIS IS DONE -- YOU HAVE TO SEARCH USING LIVE.COM, ETC. I DON'T KNOW IF IT WORKS BUT, IF IT DOES, GO FOR IT!On Nov-23-08 at 06:32:38 PST, seller added the following information:I've done some research on the "Live.com" rebate and it seems to be legitimate -- to raise awareness of Live.com Microsoft is offering a rebate of 25% on some eBay purchases made using "Buy It Now" and PayPal. I followed the instructions, searching for "macbook" at live.com and eBay appeared at the top of the search results. This is a really great deal -- getting a rebate from MS. Your mileage may vary but it seemed to work for me. A word about the speed of the 2.8 GHz processor: I have another MBP, the 2.2 GHz Santa Rosa. On the Santa Rosa machine Boot Camp/Windows Vista gives a 4.5 "Windows Experience Index". On the 2.8 GHz MBP it's 5.5 with the 7200 rpm hard disk being the slowest component; the memory, processor and graphics ratings are all 5.9. Another minor advantage: tap click works in Boot Camp on the new MBP. And the "feel" of the glass trackpad is (to my taste) much nicer!
