Based on the MC68040 microprocessor, the MVME167 combines a microprocessor with the memory management and floating point units to achieve 26 MIPS at 25 MHz and 40 MIPS at 33 MHz. This outstanding processing speed and floating point performance makes the MVME167 an ideal solution for scientific and industrial applications. The MVME167's compatibility with existing M68000 family software, including the UNIX system V/68¿ operating system and the VMEexec® software development environment, offers CISC-Based software environments the ability to realize near RISC performance levels while maintaining object code-compatibility with existing software platforms. The MVME167 has 16/32/64MB of parity-protected DRAM or 16/32/64/128/256MB of ECC-protected DRAM, 8KB of static RAM, time of day clock (with battery backup), Ethernet transceiver interface, four special ports with EIA-232-D interface, four tick timers, watchdog timer, four ROM sockets, SCSI bus interface with DMA, Centronics printer port, A16/A24/A32/D8/D16/D32/D64 VMEbus master/slave interface, 128KB of static RAM, and VMEbus system controller the I/O on the MVME167 is connected to the VMEbus P2 connector. The main board is connected through a P2 transition board and cables to the transition boards. The MVME167 supports the transition boards MVME712-012, MVME712-013, MVME712M, AND MVME712B. The MVME712X transition boards provide configuration headers and provide industry standard connectors for the I/O devices. This board does not come with any software or any other accessories, it is just for the board.
